Yoga

Do you know YOUR Yoga?

Can you do it daily, naturally and non-obsessively?

How do you modify your practices to suit your changing needs?

Learn YOUR Yoga!  There is a right yoga for each person.  If you can breathe, you can do yoga. It’s as simple as that, like brushing your teeth and taking a shower.  No physical  or mental gymnastics. Nothing foreign or fake.

Nothing is exaggerated.  Just your breath, moving your body in ways that feel good, and allow you to feel better. This is how you care for your body, mind and spirit.  When you are nurtured, other’s are nurtured, too.

The world needs you to show up fully, to share your special gifts with the world. Know your power.  Your unshakable peace.

Learn your practice. Move in the direction of your chosen goals and bloom where you are planted. This is your yoga.

Amy took her first yoga class in 1998.  Immediately, she says, she felt different.  Since then, she went on to explore all the popular styles of yoga (Iyengar, Ashtanga, Integral, Hatha, Kundalini and more).  In 2004, though, she met Mark Whitwell and was taught something very differnt.  It was her connection to her breath and body in a way she had never felt before. It was HER yoga. That’s when her life truly began to bloom.

In 2009, Amy began working with Mark privately, diving deeper into the mysterious science of yoga.  Through the death of her partner, the births of her children, personal health crisis and the adventures of her life, her yoga has been her refuge and inner sanctuary.  She believes that one’s yoga can transform pain and trauma with acceptance, gratitude and love for one’s experiences.

Amy is dedicated to helping others find this peace and power in their own lives.  She works with teens, adults, elderly and physically-challenged individuals to meet them where they are at.  In the spirit of friendship and service, she offers practices that one can actually do, allowing self-care, self-love and self-confidence to be known intimately.

She wants you to know this: You ARE perfect. Just as you are. Without trying to get anywhere or be anything more.  The sheer fact that your heart is beating, your eyes are shining, your cells are renewing and so much more, is proof of the fact that an incredible intelligence is operating in your life. Without striving or struggling to improve yourself or be more perfect, you can relax into your life knowing that you are fully supported at all times, no matter your circumstances.

Amy’s friendship with Mark Whitwell began in 2004. Read more about this on the Blog.
